Dr Eric Stice is immensely influential in the field of eating disorders and related areas. He is Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford University Medical Center.

His research is primarily concerned with identifying risk factors that might predict the onset of eating disorders, obesity, substance abuse and depression. Dr Stice has been highly successful in designing, evaluating and distributing prevention and treatment interventions for eating disorders.

In particular, he is known for developing a dissonance-based eating disorder prevention program that has been implemented in 139 countries with more than four million girls. Known as The Body Project, this initiative is regarded as the most successful eating disorder prevention program ever produced.

Dr Stice has also authored hundreds of academic articles, while he and his work have been featured in media outlets ranging from The Huffington Post to 60 Minutes.
