Your journey toward certification begins with a DBT Comprehensive course. This is the foundation for building the knowledge and skills needed to deliver DBT with confidence and fidelity.

From there, the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification guides clinicians through a rigorous but supportive process to ensure they can apply DBT effectively and in line with the model as it was researched. Programs are also evaluated to confirm they have the right structure and supports in place to offer DBT with integrity.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a gold standard, evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy developed by Marsha M. Linehan.

DBT is commonly used to treat suicidal behaviors, borderline personality disorder and other severe and complex mental health disorders including: emotion dysregulation, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, substance dependence, depression and anxiety-related issues.
